What did Dan Think?

This is my 1939 Philco Radio with “Remote Control”, which will dial 9 pre-set stations and 2 volume levels. If anyone within a 100-yard radius ha the same radio, their stations will change too!!!
NOTE: No animals were harmed in this process (and no holes were drilled in the floor). There is a 5”x14” heating vent under the plywood. I installed a piece of plywood under this hole and bolted it to pull up on the floor and subfloor, and down on the brackets above your support base. This keeps the whole unit from tipping forward.  - Dan Newton

Our Comments:

Rather than installing a Nexus Lift inside a piece of furniture, Dan elected to a 37" flat panel TV behind his antique console radio cabinet. He fashioned a base to which he attached the lift system, adding a stiffener which he custom fabricated. Now when he wants to watch television, he presses the button on remote and the screen raises up from behind the radio. A great way to make use of that dead space in the corner!
