Thanks for your help with the lift. It works wonderfully and is extremely quiet. Also your help deciphering the difference between a $500 lift and a $5,000 lift is greatly appreciated.
My project began in mid February with construction of the light box. Demolition began on March 11 with final completion by June 1st. Final cost was about $6,000 and that included the TV, Nexus 21 L-39 lift with TV-Guard current sensor, complete home theater system, 24 Volt lighting controls, IR repeater system, XM radio and all of the wood, finishing supplies, cabinet hardware, wiring and glass. (Being able to hide that great big TV: priceless!)
Once again, Thank you. - Dave Keyser
Our Comments:
Wow, now this was a serious DIY project! Dave completely tore out that whole wet bar area in favor of starting over with a new, much nicer entertainment unit. As you can see, he is a talented woodworker and handyman! From duct work to lighting and electrical, to the sound system, Dave covered it all and the end result is a great looking built-in unit that hides his large flat panel TV and also houses his whole home theater system. Thanks for sharing this with us Dave, it tuned out GREAT!
